What happens when you combine personal knowledge management, visual thinking, and AI-powered tools in an ambitious six-week challenge? In this session, I’ll take you through my journey of attempting to write and self-publish a book within a tight deadline, using my Techno-Visual PKM toolkit. From Excalidraw and Notebook LM to ChatGPT and Midjourney, I’ve been experimenting with how these tools can support ideation, structuring, drafting, and refining content—despite my lack of formal writing experience and limited time.
I’ll share the strategies I developed to tackle this challenge, the role of visual thinking in structuring complex ideas, and how AI-assisted workflows influenced the process. Whether I succeed in publishing the book or not, this experiment has already provided valuable insights into the intersection of PKM, creativity, and automation. In this talk, I’ll present my findings, discuss the biggest hurdles I faced, and explore whether I’d take on this challenge again—and if so, what I’d do differently.
